Do You Use Your Smart Phone During Sex?

According to this article one in ten of my friends do.

Is this for real?

Wouldn’t even do it if phone was set to vibrate....

unless Samsung makes one with a stronger, uhhhh signal, then maybe I would try it.

So What Am I Doing Wrong?

You have probably seen the TV commercials for the Zesty Italian salad dressing featuring the sexy man asking very suggestive questions about using the product he is selling.

One of my girlfriends sent me a picture of someone looking similar to that man standing in her driveway with a water hose running down his half naked body yesterday. She kicked this guy to the curb some time ago but he did his usual drop in to mow her grass and decided to wash both her vehicles while he was there, hence the water hose picture she sneaked. She isn’t even paying him in kind, in trade or whatever for this.

I just came in from mowing my own grass, hot and sweaty, and there wasn’t anyone to even spray me down with a water hose or bring me a cold beverage.

I am doing something wrong!!! I don't think it could be all the Zesty Italian dressing stockpiled in my kitchen.

Should You Date Someone You Can't Stalk Online?

If a man asks me out who I don’t know well or someone I just met that I am interested in, the very first thing I do is check them out on Facebook then all the other social media sites.
This article asks the question if someone is even date worthy if they don't show up in a Google search.
Since I work in social media and have been using it for centuries now, I think anyone who doesn't at least have a Facebook page is suspect. Then if you can't find them in a Google search what do you do?
I kinda consider myself an expert at finding shit out about people because of my previous career. The real challenge with being this good at stalking is not accidentally disclosing everything you know in a conversation if you do go out with him. More than once I have had to say in a very innocent manner, "oh you told me that the first time we talked".
Maybe I will start a sideline business stalking potential love interests for other people. Good idea?

Who Wants To Spoil Me?

I have always been a fiercely independent person. Some would even say sometimes to a fault.

I was taught by my mother to always be able to take care of myself in all aspects of my life. That led me to knowing that the people who are close to me are there because I want them not because I need them.
I am rethinking all that!

My schedule today would have been:
Have coffee/breakfast
Gym – have to keep the body looking good
Plan fabulous trip
Lunch
Shop for clothes for trip
Mani/pedi,, massage, facial and Botox injections
Go to the beach
Cocktails
Dinner
Sex

As I have gotten a bit more mature I am now thinking I could be a spoiled rotten, kept woman with that schedule.
Who wants to spoil me?

Looking For Love In All The Wrong Places

For work research purposes I set up a pseudo fake Match.com profile recently. There was no photo and I slightly altered some information since I am not serious. It has been a very interesting experiment to say the least. Since I am not a paying, card carrying member of Match I can’t respond to the emails I am getting from those interested in me. It is a ‘look but don’t touch thing’ for me.

In my research I did learn that 50% of the profiles on dating sites have intentional made up shit. Most of those profiles said they wanted honesty and no game playing. Excuse me?

Here are some who should have made up information or pictures. These are from matches sent to me and a friend who pays for the site. These are a cut and paste job so you are seeing it exactly like they put it on their profiles. I did alter the pictures just a bit.

I like to bearound people and have good time. I like doing things outdoors, hunten ,fishing ,sports. I like to be with poeple who like being around other poeple. Some people like to drunk & have a good time, but I like to set around and talk and other things.

I want the next person in my to be the god seens me . Because I pick the one.

i am not racing to the finish,i'm enjoying life one slow step of the way. i love my mom(and her cooking). i'm laid back, but definitely not lazy. i dont own a watch, but i'm never late. i'm a beach bum wrapped in the body of a mountain man, or vice versa. i live my life simply with the occasional dive into decadent indulgence. contact me and i'll reply with words of wonder or maybe just some words to ponder.

I'm kind caring, romantic, and I love when I can be interduced to the little girl that resides in every woman........I'm looking for a womanwho's at that age where games are put aside, and let her mate or friend see the real person.
For Fun:
Sit here at home or walk one block to the beach .
Favorite Hot Spots:
When I have the money I like yard sales flee markets.

I get emails with my daily matches and it has been very entertaining to say the least to look at some of them. One of the men was gay and just doesn’t know it yet. His interests included Pinterest and he listed Glee as one of his favorite TV shows. Do you think saying he was interested in women was part of his fake profile? There were some good ones I may have been interested in but I am not paying money so there is that.
I have seen all the TV ads for categorized dating sites and in my research online I found a site that specializes in married people who want to cheat on their spouses. WTF? I do not consider myself a naïve person at all but who the hell knew something like that would exist. There is even one for those looking for a sugar daddy or momma.
What do you think, should I pay the money and hook up with guy whose favorite hot spot is the flee market or go for the mountain man sipping on the straw?

Facebook Dating?

Many months ago my business partner (social media marketing) suggested we use me as a case study for dating using social media. Well, damn if Mark Z hasn't read our minds and all the scuttle butt now is that Facebook is going to be the new and biggest dating site because of their new search feature.

I just stalked myself on my own page to see what my profile and posts would say about me. That was an interesting exercise to say the least.

The first thing I noticed is I would have to post better pictures of myself. I was recently told I was better looking and smaller than I look on Facebook. Figures because many of the pictures were after consuming adult beverages, at a concert where it was 100 degrees and all makeup gone, no makeup to begin with, hair blowing crazy, etc. Another thing is there are none with the famous duck lip thing, none taken in a mirror, none with my boobs hanging out, and none that have been photoshopped which all seem to be essential.

You can determine I am not the "long walks on the beach" person, although I do like that. It seems I just sit on the beach, kicked back with a drink in my hand.

Speaking of drinking, it appears I drink a whole lot more than I really do. Oh wait, I think it may be wine:30 so I need to wrap this up.

I do like gardening, reading, music, traveling, am very patriotic and pretty conservative. My taste in music, books and tv shows are all over the place and pretty eclectic. That all is clear.

My profile doesn't give up much personal information and never has. I have some friends who have changed their relationship status so many times I can't keep up with it. That just seems too high school to me. I don't even show that I am female nor do I use the places thing so you can see where I am at any given moment. That will not bode well for a search engine.

I would not be a good candidate for our companies case study because I am not willing to give up my privacy on Facebook, which is pretty strict, and I am not willing to be guarded about what I post. As I think about it, I am not even into dating much so that just shoots that all to hell.

Single friends - would you use Facebook as a dating site? Single, married, in a relationship or whatever else your profile says, what would your Facebook posts and pictures say about you?

Lacy Underwear For Men????

According to this article Versace wants men to wear lingerie.

I really only have one thing to say about this. Guys, if your underwear has lace, you ain't ever goin' to see the lace on mine.

End of story.

When I Grow Up I Want To Be Betty White

Betty White has become my hero. Well, hero in the sense I want to be like her when I grow up……you know, about 80 years old or so.

She just celebrated her 90th birthday and has not slowed down based on what I have been reading and seeing on TV.

My belief is if you decide at 40, 50, 60 or any age for that matter that you are old, then you are. You may as well be dead now because you are committing suicide on the installment plan. Take a look at Betty White and what she is doing at the young age of 90.  New TV shows (yes plural), talk show interviews, appearances, etc. She is not sitting on her butt being old. In one interview she talked about living in a 2-story house and making several trips up and down the stairs to stay in shape.

She is a comedic actress and that humor comes through constantly. Here are some of my favorite quotes of hers:

"I think we're losing our sense of humor instead of being able to relax and laugh at ourselves. I don't care whether it's ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, or whose ox is being gored. “

"I think older women still have a full life. Maybe the [movie and TV] writers don’t address it these days, but it doesn’t change the fact."

"If one gets lucky I bet they do."-
In response to Barbara Walters asking her if
88-year-olds still have sex.

"You gotta use everything you possibly can!"-
On the slit in her dress when accepting the
SAG's Lifetime Achievement Award.

I want to be 90 years young and fully living my life. I will be having great parties with young men, you know about 70, flirting with them, dancing, drinking and carrying on in inappropriate ways. You can get away with a whole lot at 90 that you couldn’t previously in your life so I am looking forward to it.

I hope you continue going along on this journey with me and I will invite you to all the cool parties I am going to have when I get a bit younger. Thanks Betty for being such an inspiration!

RANDOM RAMBLINGS ABOUT HAIR

Girls have a thing about their hair, at least most do (and Steven Tyler maybe). Our hair dictates what kind of day we are going to have many times. You shower, do makeup, pick out clothes, jewelry and shoes and then the hair doesn’t cooperative and bam!....confidence gets tweaked because of it.
(I still drool like this somtimes, too)

I have had wild, curly hair all my life but recently got it professionally straightened.

What a difference the change made in me. It may have been coincidental to other things going on in my life but I think the hair played a part. I even posted pictures on Facebook showing off my new straight locks.

Where do we get the psychology of hair being so important? Our mothers putting bows and ribbons in it when we are tiny? Pressure from advertising/media? Does it go further back than that, Cleopatra maybe? This site tells the story about hair through the ages and perhaps explains somewhat.

A friend of mine recently changed her hair from her normal blonde to dark brown. I think it made a difference in her thinking. How does this happen?

And what about men and the long hair thing? Is that ancient thinking with visions of dragging the woman around by her hair ala cave man?

I change my hair frequently depending on where I am in my life. It may be long and straight today but who knows in 3 months what I may look like.  Short and blonde maybe? Probably not but you just never know.

Chime in and let me know.  Girls, does your hair affect your thinking/confidence? Guys, does your hair impact you the same way (at least you have the option of growing a beard, mustache or goatee  to change your appearance)?

Since I no longer have the wild and crazy curls I guess I will have to move the wild and crazy to my new attitude.

SOCIAL MEDIA (FACEBOOK) AND DATING

First dates with someone you don’t really know can be a bit awkward at the beginning because you are getting to know each other, blah, blah, blah.

Unless you have your privacy setting so no one but friends can see things about you, with Facebook you skip straight to 3rd date, okay maybe 2nd date.

You get to peek (stalk)  into the other person’s life and learn so much.
Many things you would not learn until you had several conversations.  You go straight to what do they drink, maybe what they eat, where have they been on vacation, how many children they have, where they work, are they a whiner…..

I have several friends who do the online dating thing. Online dating profiles are probably a lot of bullshit written to impress the person reading it. Wouldn’t you do that? Only the best pictures are posted to view. Facebook is different!  Unless you know Facebook and how to restrict things, your friends may have posted pictures of you that you would rather a potential date not see.

So what does all that information in advance change about the dating process. Of course, it could eliminate the first date completely because of the information posted. But let’s say you saw their information on Facebook and decided it would be worth a drink, lunch or dinner. What then? Does it give you more to talk about? Does it eliminate the “rules” on what is acceptable for 1st dates or 2nd dates?  After all, you skipped those awkward getting to know you moments because you already stalked each other on line.

Speaking of awkward…..you tell a little fib about why you can’t see them Thursday night and oops, someone posts a picture of you that clearly is not what you said you were going to be doing. Hmmm. Better tighten up those privacy settings on Facebook.

Complications can abound with this such as if you quit seeing someone, do you unfriend them at that point?

I am making up my own dating rules as I go this time around but will someone enlighten me to the social media and dating rules if you know them?  Are there rules or can I make up my own for that also?

How Old Is Too Young?

The big news is Sir Paul McCartney marrying for the third time to Nancy Shevell.

Former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney and his wife American heiress Nancy Shevell leave Marylebone Registry Office, following their wedding in central London, Sunday Oct. 9, 2011. Shevell, 51, is McCartney's third wife. The couple met in the Hamptons in Long Island, New York, shortly after the singer's divorce from Heather Mills in 2008 and they were engaged earlier this year. (AP Photo/Lefteris Pitarakis)A piece of that reporting has been about the age difference.

He is 69 - She is 51

Is an 18 year age difference too much? What about 50 years?  What about 10 years?

Over cocktails friday night we were discussing this very issue. Didn't seem to be a defined number that was acceptable for men or women. This article has some interesting observations about younger men with older women.
We also had the whole Cougar "cougar" conversation.
That has become such a negative word for women with younger men. What about older man with younger woman? I have a 60+ male friend who will only date much younger women with store bought body parts. I just know there is a word for that - SHALLOW, okay more than one word EGOTISTICAL. Guess that has nothing to do with age though.
Back on topic.......
Is 50 years age difference too much?
HELL YES IT IS

I had an employee who married her husband when she was 18 - he was 68. That ain't right, ya'll.

I have said many times you had no control over what year you were born but you do have control over how old you are. I believe I will spend my time with who is a compatible age with me no matter what year he was born. Someone with the same voltage.

If it has tires or testicles there’s going to be trouble or why I want a cyber boyfriend

I have been asked by several people what I am looking for in a man. My list is actually pretty short for what I would like. Haven’t found someone who could fulfill half the list yet let alone the entire thing.  I mean really, I am not asking for much. Top on the list is being able to make me laugh. Making me laugh means not laughing at you because of you thinking you are God’s gift to me. Excuse me.  I am the gift here, not you.
Well, my life has been a bit interesting of late in the men arena.  I have been with (been with not as in been with in bed) a wide range of ages. Older, handsome, successful men who seemed to have a lot going for them and were very nice but just not a spark anywhere.  Much younger, sexy, good looking, (did I mention hot?) didn’t work out so well either.  Well, he fell asleep after having too much to drink.  So much for me not being able to hang with younger people.  I recall a Rolling Stones song, Satisfaction, as in “I can’t get no”.  Did I mention he was very sexy?  Oh wait. Have to move on to describing another man now. This man is nearer my age, but still a bit younger, who I tagged with the name Bad Boy the day I met him, is still in my life. He had the whole hot and sexy thing going on also. Oh my goodness did/does he ever!  I screwed that one up though. I took it to a friendship thing and we are still great friends and I talk to Bad Boy frequently.  As a matter of fact, my fantasies of him serve a great purpose at times and he still makes me laugh during our phone calls.
In addition to those three men there are other stories but I won’t bore you with them, or me again for that matter.  There was the guy who kept telling me all evening how he loved my hair and kept touching it. I guess I should be glad it wasn't a foot fetish.
That brings me back to what do I want besides the previously mentioned making me laugh.  I think the best thing for me would be a cyber boyfriend. Yep, embracing everything techy in my professional life (social media marketing) so may as well be embracing a man that way for my personal life. One thing I have said I do not want is someone up my ass all the time and wanting to spend every minute with me. Cyber boyfriend couldn’t do that. That is a priority on the list so that would be taken care of.  The introduction and initial “dates” could be via Twitter.
The progression of a “relationship” like that as I see it would be:
                                              1.       Sexting
                                              2.       Email
3.       Facebook chat
4.       Phone if things are going well and he isn’t getting too clingy
5.       The next really big step would be Skype. What would that be called, Skexing? I could even do the chair dancing I am learning for him via Skype.
The only thing missing from this is something with an on/off switch or hot and cold controls.  (Ladies if you don’t know about the hot and cold controls let me know)  I do really like kissing a lot so that wouldn’t be there with the cyber boyfriend. I do kiss my girlfriends, with eyes wide open though, so a bit of that would be taken care of. Damn, I like to hold hands too so have to figure that one out.
I have been wanting a friend with benefits and that hasn’t worked out because inspite of what they say, men have a hard time with that so I think this is the next best thing and I wouldn’t even have to wash the sheets as often.
I tend to label my “boyfriends”, hate that word but don’t know what else to use, so you have to help me come up with a name for him.  Maybe just CyberBoy. That would fit with Bad Boy, Boy Toy, etc.  Comment with a good name for him and I will keep you posted on my social media experiment.

Pole Dancing? Chair Dancing?

I am in a special class to get fit.  No, it isn’t special ed.  It is a small, specialty fitness class that is not only getting us fit but working on being sensual and sexy – for ourselves. The instructor/owner of the fitness center is all about empowering women to feel good about themselves at any and all points in their lives.

This class has given me a huge appreciation for women who work in “gentlemen’s clubs”. You see, it is a pole and chair dance class. The amount of fitness and strength this takes is so much more than I thought.  I have joked that if my current career doesn’t work out I will hit the clubs in Myrtle Beach with what I am learning.  Remember, I said I “joked” about it. There would have to be a bunch of alcohol to convince me to do that publicly.  Okay, maybe not a bunch of alcohol but there would have to be alcohol involved.

If we allow ourselves we can lose our sexual and sensual self. It isn’t about having someone in your life and it isn’t about pleasuring yourself.  We are a puritan society who says we must cover our bodies and certainly not touch ourselves or if we do you don’t talk about it. I seem to recall boys being told they would go blind if they did or something like that. Never heard that about girls but maybe the belief was girls didn’t do that.  I have digressed and need to get back on track with my beginning thoughts, so….

“Sexuality is a natural part of who we are. We are all sexual beings, although we express our sexuality differently as we grow up. Our sexuality includes our sense of gender, our body image, our sexual orientation, our sexual behaviors, our emotions, and the roles we play in relationships. It is much bigger than what we do and who we do it with.” That is according to Dr. Logan Lefkoff and I agree.  The big part of that statement for me is the body image part. This class certainly helps with that.

The pole and chair dance classes are not only for fitness but they give you permission to move your body in a sensual manner.  Some of us have way too many hang ups about that.  Put some music on at home and sway to it. Just move and pretty soon you may be feeling pretty darned sexy.  Oh yeah, close the blinds first.
